1. People don't like existing dating apps. 2. Loneliness is a huge issue that needs to be addressed. 3. Paradigm shift: As more people work remotely, it unlocks the opportunity to date outside one's own city. The potential is massive as it will create a single dating market instead of small, fragmented markets. This is analogous to Amazon (Fairytrail: video dating, most selection) vs. convenience stores (Bumble: local dating, limited selection).
1. I've built successful products in marketplaces before, including home-sharing, ride-sharing, and grocery delivery (3-sided marketplace). E.g. I helped drive 20x user growth at Shipt and we were acquired for $550m. 2. We are relentless. I had the idea in 2018 and now it has 13k+ users and survived the pandemic (e.g. traffic dropped 70%)! 3. We care deeply about remote workers.
We will use it to grow the team. It's all about the people!
